Leaving from our hotel, located on the Costa del Sol, and across the eastern part of it, we will go to the people of Benaque, where we visit the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, with its magnificent tower, the minaret of the ancient Muslim mosque and where we can enjoy some splendid frescoes of the seventeenth century.
From here we'll go to the museum of Salvador Rueda, "the poet of the race", the forerunner of Spanish Modernism, where we visit the museum, preserved as an important legacy of the poet.
Then we go to Macharaviaya, just 2 kilometers from Benaque considered of cultural interest for its architecture and history, giving us a stage to welcome the Los Gálvez, of the eighteenth century.
This town was the birthplace of "The Galvez, whose descendant, Matthias, Conde de Galvez, was viceroy of New Spain, a character who support the American revolution against British troops that would begin with the independence of the United States in 1776 .
Here and after a pedestrian walk by their typical streets, visit its verdant park of La Louisiana, to address the Museo Casa de Los Gálvez, a building dedicated to the exposure of the family, as well as an important art collection.
Having visited the site and walking through the zigzagging Moorish streets of this place, we will go to the Church of San Jacinto, Parish Church of Macharaviaya of 1875, which was built with profits from the Royal Factory Deck and contributions of Gávez family.
It is an impressive building that stands out in your environment dramatically. Under the church is the crypt of the Gálvez family, is buried there who was Marquis of Sonora, D. José de Gálvez, and just in front of the church will see all houses in the place where he was the Royal Factory of Naipes Macharaviaya, which alone had the privilege of making cards for the new empire.
In this place is an inn where, as a finishing touch to this visit, we will have a tasting of the products Axarquía, where you can try their famous sweet wines, raisins from which these wines come from, as well as the famous fig bread the Axarquía.
After visiting this landmark axarqueño town, take the bus again and go towards Frigiliana, one of the most beautiful examples of architecture in the Andalusian region of La Axarquia, where we will have lunch with food from the area in a local restaurant, and after it, have time free to stroll and discover this beautiful corner of Moorish village.
