We start our visit in the Sanctuary of the Lady of the Rock(Santuario de la Virgen de la Peña), protectress Lady of Mijas, with a Church excavated in the rock.Then we continue our visit among the typical narrow and white streets of the village towards the City_Hall Museum ,where we will be able to see typical things of the town like Oil- mills,wine-cellars, esparto, marble, honey…
From the Museum, we are going to the San Sebastian Street, the most known in picture and TV-reports as a typical narrow and white street with grates and flowerpots on the windows, with a colourfull image.From this street we walk to the town center, to the Constitution Square , surrounded by shops and restaurants , and to the Plaza de Toros (Bullfightring),built in 1.900 with a capacity of 1.000 persons and with a rectangular surface from outside.
From the Plaza de Toros we go to the Church of the Lady of Inmaculada Concepción ( Immaculate Conception ) and we visit it , built in 1.510 ,and from there to the Mirador , a terrace with a magnificent view over Fuengirola, and on clair days over Gibraltar and Morocco.
The visit of Mijas can take approx.1 hour . The only Entrance-fee to pay is the one concerning the visit of the Bullfightsring from outside.
